History of the producer
Podere Casisano is a splendid natural terrace overlooking the southern area of Montalcino, nearby St. Antimo Abbey. The total estate is 53 hectares, of which 22 are vineyards, 8 are planted with olive trees, and the rest is covered with old-centuries woods.
As a project dedicated to highlight the prestigious Montalcino denominations, Podere Casisano represents the perfect union between the centuries-old tradition of vocated lands and a winemaking maturity experienced by the Tommasi Family.

Vintage: 2013 - A 4 stars vintage which has given a wine with a good structure and full bodied. Great ageing potential.
Grapes: Sangiovese Grosso 100%
Vineyard: Podere Casisano, selected grapes from the best parcel of the estate. Single spur pruned cordon. Planting density 80x250 – 5.000 plants/ha
Vinification and Ageing: Fermentation at controlled temperature of 28/30 °C in wood vats of 70 hl. Daily pumping and long delestages was made during maceration, which lasted 20-25 days. The malolactic fermentation was carried out in wood. It aged for 4 years in Slavonian oak barrels of 18 and 25 hl and refined for 6 months in bottle.
